It is extremely important to get plenty of sleep. This isn't Earth shattering news but it is always good to highlight the importance of something many off us neglect. With our busy lives there many things we sacrifice to full out our day. For some its working out or hanging out with friends. For others it’s the quintessential necessity of sleep. We will stay up late to finish work or to finish binge watching our new favorite show, but all at the expense of our much needed rest.
Most people know the benefits of getting a full night of sleep, like improved memory, increased energy and a better focus. What some people don't realize is that the lack of sleep can lead to weight gain. Research has shown that people who were well rested lost more fat than those who were sleep deprived. Also those who lack a full night of rest tend to feel more hungry when they get less sleep. This makes all the hard work you put into exercising feel more like two steps forward and one step back. Be sure you don't sell yourself short by neglecting your sleep.
